The mean streets of San Francisco's Mission District are a tough place to raise a child, but ex-convict Che (Benjamin Bratt) does his best to care for son Jesse (Jeremy Ray Valdez) while continuing to battle alcoholism. Che lashes out, however, when he discovers his son is gay--leading him to a profound exploration of his own values.
